Pompero

Pompero has become a synonym for salmon dry fly fishing in Finland. For many seasoned salmon anglers, Pompero is the only dry fly needed when heading up to Northern Norway, Kola Peninsula or Finnish Lapland – from small grilse streams to huge rivers. Usually served on the dead-drift with Plan B being applying some drag just before where you think the fish is lying. The body is not as floatant as traditional deer-hair Bombers, but the high-quality hackle keeps it afloat. A great way to ensure your dry fly floats longer is to apply some Gulff Duck Floatant before use. Tied on a Partridge CS42 hook. Also available as a tube fly with an everfloating foam back: Foamber.
