Phatagorva, Pahtagorva, Phatakorva, Pahtakorva, Bhatakorva – however you prefer to spell it, we’re talking about one of the most effective Nordic salmon flies. Voted the best fly of the legendary Norwegian Alta river and unanimous of the “holy trinity” of Swedish salmon rivers along with Den Vanliga and Banana Fly. Whether it’s Baltic salmon or just other rivers that carry that small brownish tint, it is hard to find a more important fly than Phatakorva. Tied on a Mustad DL71U double hook.
