There’s quite a bunch of better-looking shrimps for coastal sea trout than Glimmer Reje or Mulkkis, but few as effective. Call it ugly, but the chenille blob seems to be an irresistible attractor on all sea trout coasts. To be precise, our version is a close variant of the actual Glimmer Reje, a simplified Finnish fly known as Mulkkis. For us Glimmer Reje and Mulkkis have been especially effective in low-light conditions or overcast days. Word of warning – in dirty water the chenille is like a magnet collecting all the trash imaginable! Luckily it has a similar effect with fish when you don’t have bits of algae floating around everywhere. Tied on a one of the absolute best coastal sea trout hooks, Ahrex Nordic Salt 115. Another excellent saltwater chenille fly is Norm’s Crystal Schminnow, try it out too!
