Norm’s Crystal Schminnow

If you’ve ever been to Sanibel Island, Florida, chances are you’ve visited the legendary Norm Zeigler’s fly shop. The Crystal Schminnow, alias Sanibel Schminnow is above all a killer snook fly that Norm has created as a mesh of a shrimp and baitfish. Unsurprisingly it fishes just about any inshore saltwater species from redfish to spotted sea trout, but can also successfully be used in freshwater. Try it out for coastal sea trout too with a long slow strip and pop! Tied on a Gamakatsu SL11-3H saltwater hook.
