Frances has got to be the confidence fly of literally every Icelandic angler. We usually fish it in small sizes, almost always dead drifting or “nymphing” it upstream with a long leader. When a small, heavy Frances speeds in front of a salmon, the fish needs to react lighting fast. Often with the desired outcome. Also available: Frances Red Conehead and Frances Red double.
