Hairy Mary

Hairy Mary is perhaps best known in the UK as an effective dropper fly often paired with a shrimp pattern. Scottish grilse in particular favor its lush wing and there it is used all season to double the chances for a strike. Also effective “solo” – apply short strips across the current! Tied on a Mustad DL71U double hook.
