Frances Black Conehead

For each fly sold in this category, we donate 1€ directly to charity. All of these flies are made using the same premium materials as the rest of our selection. However, they might contain minor flaws such as a different colour rib than the original recipe or a shorter/longer wing. In this case, some of the flies came without the gold ribbing (but not all – most are 100% top quality) and therefore we are selling them all at a discount in our Charity selection.

Frances, or Francis, has got to be the confidence fly of literally every Icelandic angler. We usually fish it in small sizes, almost always dead drifting or “nymphing” it upstream with a long leader. When a small, heavy Frances speeds in front of a salmon, the fish needs to react lighting fast. Often with the desired outcome. Also available: Frances Red Conehead.
