Musta Kostaja

It’s August, the sun starts setting and you are wading into a perfect trout river. What’s your fly pick for the occasion? Ours would most likely be Musta Kostaja (“the Black Avenger”) – an all-black shadow streamer hugely popular in Finland. Although best known as a night-time fly for the end of summer, it does work throughout the season. Tied on a Daiichi 2220 hook.
