Surffilauta Tube

Surffilauta is one of our personal TOP5 flies for both trout and salmon. The Finnish ‘surf board’ is an insanely effective, but above all, fun fly to fish. Its classic use-case is in imitating a stunned baitfish drifting on the surface after a trout attack (=cast upstream and dead-drift like a dry fly). As a bonus, the smallest sizes are killer atlantic salmon flies in Northern Norway (surely also elsewhere)! It doesn’t get much better than watching your streamer glide with the current and suddenly witnessing the surface blow up.

We recommend rigging up with Ken Sawada XS1 Single Tube Hook in size #4 for a 6cm long Surffilauta, and #2 for a 10cm one!
