Blood Midge

Some year’s ago on an Icelandic trout and char river our guide wanted to see our small flies. None of them were microscopic enough for his taste, so he gave a few size #20 “blood worms” of his own. The result was several dozen char and trout during that session – and a mental note-to-self to always carry red and black midges or buzzers in small sizes. The Blood Midge comes tied on a Daiichi 1270 hook.
